Love From the Linden Trees

This is my awesome tagline

Okay so I was thinking about this earlier and I find it interesting that there was a decision made that for Stiles to be useful to the group he needs to have some kind of power. Whether he’s magic or just the fact that they need a human who believes in ‘weres/the supernatural to work magical items it shows how the world has changed.

This is disjointed because I don’t usually meta outside of chats with people.

What I mean is that people point him out as a research tool and such but he’s really not? The tons of werewolf lore he found he found because he has the time and the ability to focus for a new obsession, not because it was hard to find. And that shows how the internet has changed how research works.

Because ten to fifteen years ago he could have provided the research. The dude with enough time on his hands to live in a library and search out all the information they need. But now we have Google and even Derek can use Google provided he buys a laptop and wants to go around town finding wifi to steal.

And he’s not smart enough to be the person who provides random, extremely detailed information off the top of his head. That’s Lydia.

So he’s got a spot they’ve build just for him, using magic as a tool and having to be human to do so. (Allison or Lydia could do it but they’ve already got spots in this group, Allison is the muscle basically and as I said, Lydia is the brains.)

Filed under this isn't hate just meta not tagging teen wolf not tagging shit it kind of meanders a bit i'm only brainy in short spurts and this is long
