this is about queer representation, right?

See, that’s where you’re confused. It never started out as a quest for queer representation. People weren’t actively looking for a queer couple to ship. They just noticed an exciting, electric, interesting couple to ship. It was just noticing the chemistry, the dynamic, and how their characters compliment each other.

After the fact, people started to acknowledge the fact that this couple probably wouldn’t happen because they aren’t hetero. And how there are no couples on TV that DON’T fit into a queer stereotype. Like Sterek. And then it became more about representation, which is also a valid point considering there ARE no non stereotypical couples like Sterek on TV.

Little did we all know that MTV is actually very open to the idea.

then why use the queer representation argument if that’s the case?
