And to say Maslany leads the series is an understatement. She’s its cornerstone. She’s Sarah. She’s spiraling soccer mom Alison. She’s blood-thirsty maniac Helena. She’s science wiz Cosima. She’s Sarah-as-Beth, Alison-as-Sarah, Sarah-as-Alison, Helena-as-Sarah-as-Beth … OK, you get it. She plays a whole lot of characters and has a shooting schedule unrivaled by anyone else on television. But watch “Orphan Black,” and you might just need to remind yourself just one woman is behind so many characters: That’s how convincing she is. You’ll forget they’re all Maslany.

the construction worker tips his hardhat, “who thought it’d be a good idea to join the supply room and the boiler room? that just doesn’t seem practical. shouldn’t they just use supply closets?” he looks up at his coworker “i don’t know billy i have a strange feeling we’ll be back repairing this school a whole hell’uva lot.”

So apparently this stunning creature, Daniel Kaluuya, may be one of the three front-runners for the Doctor, which the BBC may announce as early as tomorrow. To which I say YES PLEASE.
(Could just be rumor-mill stuff, but still…)

Dear Backers,
I told you that I hoped to have new casting announcements every day this week.
At the moment, things are looking good on that count.
And since I can’t spend the entire week responding to well-intentioned pleas and death threats via email, let’s start with another casting announcement many of you have been (vocally) waiting for:I’m pleased to confirm that Francis Capra will be returning as Eli “Weevil” Navarro.
Playing a wrong-side-of-the-tracks-kid in a town full of privileged peers, Francis found a terrific — and difficult — balance between tough and soulful. I couldn’t be happier that he’ll be back with us for the film.
Please join me in welcoming Francis back in the comments, or say hello on Twitter — his official account is @FrancisCapra.
For those of you keeping score, that now brings our confirmed cast up to seven.
(And yes, I know, you’re still wondering about your other favorites. I said every day this week, didn’t I?)
The clock is ticking, gang: one week until we start production.
Busily Yours,
RobNote: You can’t see me, but I have a huge smile right now. Yeah!!!

Never gets old. NEVER.
Even before Pup, before BDSM, I have always loved the way american boys seem to be taught from a young age to answer with ma’am or sir. It wasn’t until I was older and wiser that I realised why the ‘yes ma’am’ appealed to me in the way it did.
