I have decided to give sex education and sex tips every Tuesday evening. My language will be casual and I use a lot of AAVE, but I will make sure to use scientific terms. The “advice” (more like discussion) will be queer and trans* friendly. I want to make sure that I center WOC and Fat WOC in my discussions, because a lot of issues regarding us gets left out or we’re invisible. I’m curious though, what do you guise want to discuss? I’ll try to be research on things I’m not an expert on (trans* issues and point folks to the proper sources). Anyhow, what do you want to see from this?

Raven-Symoné has apparently been outed. People should be aware that outing is never okay. It’s an ugly, horrid, vile practice, and there’s no excuse for it. If she is gay, she deserves all the support in the world. News outlets have no right to write a ton of stories speculating about it and using her sexuality to increase readership. And quite frankly, paying attention to all these stories just gives support to the news outlets that think outing people is okay.

Telling somebody who is LGBTQIA that “Oh hey, your bullying sucks…. But it’ll get better in the end…” Aint. Doing. SHIT. to make their lives better.

What POLICIES are being put in place to make sure that shit ain’t happening?

Are teachers who ignore bullying being FIRED for their ineptitude? NO. Then you ain’t shit.

Are students who bully being EXPELLED for their bullshit? No? Then you ain’t doing shit.

Are there any sort of counseling sessions being put in place for the mental health of these bullied individuals? No? Then you ain’t doing SHIT.

Are you personally stepping the fuck up and telling the bullies to back the fuck off on a regular basis? No? Then you ain’t doing SHIT.

Being kinky or vegan is not what people see when they decide whether or not to, say, follow you around the store where they work, but being white is. I can’t get into people giving me a laundry list of ways they’re oppressed where 1. half are phony, e.g. vegan, and 2. no one wants to talk about race (anarchists, I’m looking at y’all).

every time that we sit around and talk about queerness and white queers do not talk about race and expect me to bond with them over instances of a queer experience, you are erasing so many parts of my experience as a person of color under some guise of “sameness”

every time a white queer or trans person talks about their interactions being harassed/afraid/whatever in public and attribute it only to being queer and/or trans, they are ignoring the ways white supremacy interacted with the situation

every time i am identified as “a queer” by queer white people and they think that is something i should celebrate and identify with on its own, they are erasing my brownness and ignoring their whiteness and effectively perpetuating white supremacy
